We'll be at the curve at the bottom of Lander hill where the sidewalk has totally disappeared under blackberries, weeds and ivy making that side of the street totally impassable to pedestrians. Our intent will be to open the sidewalk back up though it may take more than one trip. Thanks Dave for the idea!
Cut material will be placed into yard waste bags or on some of these cleanups we can find areas to place clippings to biodegrade.
I’ll have some tools to start with but if you have hand clippers, kneeling pads and hand tools you use at home, those would be good to bring. I’ll bring rakes, a hedge trimmer, weed whacker, a leaf blower, etc and we’ll build our toolset over time.
Parking: There's very little parking on Lander hill so I'll probably park at the bottom along 56th or at the bottom of the hill where Lander flattens out and then walk up.
This project is inspired by the fine work of the Seattle Street Fixers and group members Jeremy and Conrad who have been doing this type of work for a long time with great success. It seems like a perfect compliment to our other cleanup work so we'll start pairing it up with our other cleans for a broader impact in the community.
